How’s It Going?
60 Day Challenge - Day 52
We're 5 days in to the Gluten Free January Challenge. How is it going for you? Are you struggling with anything? Getting cravings for some of the things you used to eat on a regular basis? Have you caved in to any of those cravings in a weak moment?
Remember the KISS principle - keep things simple stupid! Don't overcomplicate things. Eat a quality protein at each meal, and fill the rest in with veggies. That's all there is to it. Also, we do have our FaceBook page for the challenge - don't be afraid to use it to ask questions, or as an accountability tool.
We are looking in to carrying some new products at the gym. VitaCoco is a yummy coconut beverage that's a great post workout beverage. We stumbled upon Nicole's Nutty Goodness while traveling down to South Carolina. It's a bar that's similar to Lara Bars, but are completely vegan, raw, and about 90% organic. And when we can get our hands on a freezer, we'll be carrying local, grass fed ground beef from Griffin Farms! Yummy!
Also, starting today, we're going to be raising the price on the eggs to $4.50/dozen.

I think I’m not having a problem staying away from gluten, I think. But I’m on the road and new to this so I can’t be 100% positive I haven’t had anything. When I got crabcakes the other night, I did make sure they didn’t use any filling.

Day 4 of Whole30 for me. No major cravings thus far. Unfortunately, I’m having to “cheat” that diet by drinking a little cherry juice for this whole gout thing. So I’m probably getting a little more sugar than I should, but I’m keeping an eye on it. Also trying to work in more sweet potatoes during WOD recovery - never tried that last time.
Definitely felt very sluggish during WOD this morning though. It was the same when we did the Whole30 last year - I looked back thru my notes, and I had a few days that were rough, but then I got used to it. Hoping for the same this time!
Strength: 205# FS (5RM PR but coulda gone higher)
WOD: 1:40 row, 5 rounds, Rx.

Did the WOD (without the row) in this little gym at my parents place in India. Used a 25 kg dumbell since there were no KBs. 5 rounds 20 reps

Feels good actually doing 2 workouts in a week for the first time in a while…Tomorrow should be fun too…
1:32 row, 6 rounds +19 reps RX
@Akhil’s comment - I have a buddy who started dating this crossfit girl (and now married), they went to mexico for vacation and she wanted him to do a crossfit WOD with her involving thrusters (which he had never done). Him being ‘fit’ and not wanting to look like a 90# weakling, he grabbed a pair of 25’s and did the WOD. He thought the movement was unusually and extremely difficult and unbeknownst to him, they were 25KG dumbells and he spent the rest of the week unable to move from the couch…he never really understood the whole metric thing…
