Easier?
Every so often, someone asks "When does this get easier?" Our friend Andy over at CFLA also recently posted a blog about this.
It doesn't.
Not in CrossFit, or in any other sport - if you're pushing yourself! Yesterday's baseline WOD is a good example. The way to a faster time is learning how to push yourself through the pain (especially during those squats after the row!). I took 9 seconds off my time, and the row was the same as last time I did the Baseline. Amy used to say it all the time when she was racing mountain bikes - the winner's going to be the one who can stand the suffering the longest. Pushing through the pain on those squats will knock many seconds off your time.
Yes, you will be getting naturally faster as you get stronger and build your work capacity. But at some point, you have to take shorter breaks (or no breaks), and get back to it! Push yourself to the edge of the cliff - and see how long you can stay there!
The 9AM class- at 10:20 - after the basline...
