Amazing Grace
A bunch of us visited Brickhouse CrossFit in Roanoke on Saturday to participate in Barbells for Boobs. The workout was Grace, which is 30 clean & jerks (really just floor to shoulders to overhead) at a prescribed weight of 135/95. Kaja, Erin, Becky, Caleb, Lee, and myself participated, with Erin's hubbie Andrew and daughter Harper acting as our fan club! The folks at Brickhouse were very welcoming, and thankful for our participation and for our equipement contributions. It's great to know that we have some great CrossFit neighbors in Roanoke.
We recieved lots of compliments on everyone's form, which made me smile as your coach!! I'm pretty sure that we all set PRs, including many virgin "Gracers". Caleb set the blistering pace of 1:43 in the first coachs' heat, with me finishing under 3:30 in the same heat. Our ladies were the only ones to perform the workout as prescribed, with Becky finishing somewhere in the 6:00 range and Erin in the 5:00 range. Kaja performed squat cleans at 75# in the low 3:00s (fast!), and Lee did the workout at 115# under the effects of cold medication! (What's your excuse?!?)
Very nice work everyone! This was our first face-to-face contact with Brickhouse, and I know we made a positive impression. Thanks for that!!!

Coffee-free!!!! thats awesome. Although I ‘ve been doing it for the past 23 years and I sleep in class more than anyone you’ve ever met….hasn’t worked out so great for me.
